Influenza activity in the United States is high overall and is likely to continue for weeks. Influenza A (H3N2) viruses have been most common, and the majority of H3N2 viruses analyzed this season are different from the H3N2 viruses in this season's flu vaccine. This may reduce how well the vaccine protects against those H3N2 viruses.
