Director's Briefing: Testing to Prevent Colon Cancer
In this Director's Briefing video, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden talks about this month's Vital Signs, which reports that about 23 million adults (ages 50-75) have not gotten the life-saving tests they need to find colon cancer early. Testing is important. Every year, more than 50,000 Americans die from colon cancer -- yet testing could have found precancerous growths and saved lives. There are different types of screening tests, and people are encouraged to talk with their doctor about which test is right for them. The best test is the test that gets done.
