Black Corals: A Gem of a Cancer Screening Program in South Carolina
The South Carolina St. James-Santee Family Health Center used The Community Guide to develop a cancer screening program targeting African American women. Community Preventive Services Task Force recommendations used: Client-oriented screening (client reminders, group education, one-on-one education, reducing structural barriers and client out-of-pockets costs, small media); provider-oriented screening (provider assessment & feedback, provider reminder & recall systems).
