Foodborne Diseases: Better Prevention with Better Public Health Information
Food industry trends such as the centralization of food processing and reliance on imported foods are not only affecting the health and confidence of the general public, but are also placing a burden on understaffed state and local health departments who are currently conducting 90% of all foodborne outbreak investigations. This session addresses these challenges, as well as interventions and policies that will reduce food-borne related illness and death in the United States and abroad.
