Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) is a peer-reviewed electronic journal established by the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Getting mammograms regularly can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer.

Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women. If you have a higher risk of getting breast cancer at a young age, talk to your doctor.
